WVAS offers surface and subsurface water rescue capabilities. Our area includes significant portions of the Potomac River, the Conococheaugue Creek and other significant bodies of water.

WVAS owns and operates two boats for surface rescues and dive support.

WVAS also operates the Washington County Dive Rescue team which is the only dive rescue team in Western Maryland. The water emergencies WCDR is responsible for include: reported victims in bodies of water, vehicles in water, boat accidents, and river island search/rescue.
