CEMENT PLANTThis represents a cement plant in a part of my layout called Security. There really is a cement plant in a community called Security just outside of Hagerstown but it doesn't look much like this. Those are covered hopper cars used to protect dry loads from rain and have sealed hatches on top so that grains and powders can be dumped in from above. They are emptied through trap doors in their sloping floors.
